Tenchi is finding
independent life a bit of a struggle. His limited cookery skills result
in a breakfast that is barely edible! However, Sakuya pays a visit and
manages to cheer Tenchi up as they enjoy a hearty breakfast together.
Meanwhile, Yugi is busy summoning three new servants of evil.
Back
in Okayama, Ryoko and Ayeka find it difficult to get through the
inter-dimensional
tunnel entry portal; Tenchi has covered the exit again, and there is
only enough room for them to peep through into Tenchi's room. Much
to
their consternation, they spot Sakuya and Tenchi together, and Ryoko
tries to blast her way through (without success). However, they soon
come up with a plan — send Ryo-ohki through the small gap to open up
the exit. It's a tight squeeze, and it takes a persuasive fork in her
behind to get her through the hole!
Back
in Tokyo, Tenchi and Sakuya are enjoying their Sunday looking around
the city. Taking a short-cut through an alley, they come across a mysterious
mansion shrouded in mist. They decide to investigate closer, and find
the place apparently deserted. However, the door slams shut behind them,
and they are greeted by a tall, blond-haired man. He is Hotsuma, the
first of Yugi's new servants. Apologizing for barging in uninvited,
Sakuya and Tenchi try to make themselves scarce, but Hotsuma tells them
he is holding a party, and asks that they come along. As he leads them
through the corridors of the mansion, he tells them the legend of the
House of the Eternal Pledge. The legend tells of a nobleman and his
daughter who once lived in the mansion, and how the daughter fell for
a servant but could not marry him, so they pledged their love for each
other and took their own lives. Reputedly, their spirits still dwell
in the mansion, and will help all young lovers who pledge their love
in the house to stay together forever. His story over, Hotsuma suddenly
separates Tenchi and Sakuya, leaving them to wander the house alone.
Elsewhere,
Ryoko and Ayeka have finally managed to get through the inter-dimensional
tunnel. Led on by Ryo-ohki, they soon find the House of the Eternal
Pledge. Inside, Tenchi and Sakuya have been dressed in wedding suit
and bridal gown. Hotsuma appears and begins to perform the marriage
service. When Tenchi refuses to pledge his love, Hotsuma hypnotizes
him. Just in time, Ryoko and Ayeka burst in on the ceremony, but
Hotsuma
grabs Sakuya and tries to take her with him. Tenchi rushes at Hotsuma,
but is knocked back easily. Furious at Hotsuma for trying to harm
Tenchi,
Ryoko and Ayeka attack him, but he soon turns tail and runs, swearing
to return. As he vanishes, the mansion disappears with him, leaving
everyone out in the alley. Sakuya is stunned that Tenchi knows a
pair
of "sorcerers", but Tenchi tries to explain away the situation by telling
her that Ryoko and Ayeka are "Monster Busters" (characters from a video
game they played earlier that day). Oddly enough, Sakuya doesn't
see anything odd about it!
