Episode 26 - No Need for a Concusion!
  Kessen muyô!
  Ketsuron muyô!
First aired - 24th September 1995

Declared innocentTenchi narrates the epilogue to the saga. After defeating Kagato, the charges against him and the others were dropped. The truth about their roles in bringing down Kagato were broadcast across the universe, making minor celebrities of each of them. Ayeka and Sasami returned to their rightful places as princesses at the royal palace on Jurai. Katsuhito made a full recovery from his injuries, and Azaka and Kamidake (the wooden guardians) were recharged and brought back to life. The legendary knights also returned to life in the royal palace, although Azaka still cannot beat Sasami at her video games! Washu became an honorary president of the academy she was kicked out of 700 years previously... and within a month was kicked out again for producing yet more dangerous inventions! Mihoshi and Kiyone returned to the Galaxy Police, where they received commendations and promotions for their bravery. Ryoko, however, is still missing. Nagi remains as resolute as ever to track down and defeat her nemesis.

On planet Jurai, Tenchi prepares to leave for his journey back to earth. After spending some time on Jurai, he chose not to accept the Juraian throne and to return instead to the planet of his birth and lead an ordinary life. Before he leaves, Ayeka bids him a tearful farewell, thanking him for the few months of precious time that they shared together.

Life returns to normalBack on Earth, Tenchi returns to his ordinary life. In their absence, Ayeka's tree Ryu-Oh has grown much bigger. Tenchi goes back to school, Katsuhito returns to work at the family shrine, and Nobuyuki continues his job as an architect. The karaoke machine Ryoko bought remains unused, Mihoshi and Kiyone's apartment now lies empty. The cupboard under the stairs and the bathroom in the Masaki home have been returned to normal.

Ryoko returnsAs Tenchi walks to school one spring morning, he catches himself reminiscing about the days when things were much less peaceful. He misses the chaos and fun that his extended family brought, but most of all he misses Ryoko. However, that morning the final question is answered when Ryoko appears beside the path, alive and well. She leaps into Tenchi's arms and hugs him tightly, telling him that, as a space pirate, she could just steal him away. She decides that the best thing to do is compete fairly with Ayeka for his affections.

On Jurai, Sasami is startled to discover that Ayeka has run away, and guessing that she has gone to Earth, she and both sets of guardians head after her too. Washu reappears in the closet under the stairs, Mihoshi and Kiyone return to their apartment, and all at once the gang are reunited once more.

Fact! The song played over Ryoko's return and the montage of shots from previous episodes is called "Dimension of Love" (or "Ren'ai no jikyû", the original Japanese title). The Japanese vocals are performed by Ai Orikasa, Ryoko's Japanese voice artist. You can read the lyrics here.
