  Ryôko muyô!
  Ryōko muyō!
First aired - 10th September 1995

Tenchi and Tenchi-kenWith Katsuhito and Ryoko wounded and unable to fight, it is up to Tenchi to rescue princess Ayeka from the evil Kagato.

Alone aboard the Yagami, Tenchi ponders the events that led him to this point. Washu has assured him that he possesses a greater level of Jurai energy than his grandfather, enough to stand a better chance against Kagato. Although he can activate Tenchi-ken, he is still doubtful that he can defeat Kagato.

Despite Tenchi's reservations about fighting, the gang are soon forced to flee their hiding place. The Juraian military has been granted permission to enter the Sacred Place, and a whole fleet of attack ships has been sent to attack the Yagami. However, salvation arrives in the form of Nagi, who destroys the Juraian ships with her craft, Ken-Ohki.

A short while later, as the Yagami shelters in an asteroid field, Nagi boards and explains her actions. She is adamant that only she should be the one to take Ryoko's life. Meanwhile, Tenchi tends Katsuhito's bedside. He remembers his grandfather's words, insisting that he should face his destiny, no matter how difficult it may seem. He finally decides that he must go to the royal palace and challenge Kagato. As he leaves the room, he meets Ryoko in the corridor. She begs Tenchi not to risk his life, unable to bear the thought of life without him, but he stands by his decision. Despite her reservations, Ryoko accepts his choice, and decides to help him by taking him directly to the royal palace aboard Ryo-Ohki.

Nagi spares Ryoko's life...for nowAs Ryoko prepares to leave, Nagi enters her room. She reminds Ryoko that they still have a score to settle, but Ryoko insists that she wants to help Tenchi. Knowing that Ryoko is seriously wounded, Nagi decides against fighting her in such a condition, and allows her to leave.

Tenchi's family and friends bid him good luck as he leaves with Ryoko, Azaka and Kamidake. Before long, Ryo-Ohki reaches a fleet of Juraian ships awaiting them outside the asteroid field. As the Juraians attack, they are amazed to see what appears to be two Ryo-Ohki's trying to penetrate the front line. However, one is Ken-Ohki in disguise, and their cunning ruse has allowed the real Ryo-Ohki to escape. At last, they arrive at the ring of defence satellites surrounding planet Jurai. Ryoko teleports into the heart of one of the satellites and blasts its reactor apart. The explosion sets off a chain reaction, wiping out every satellite in range, leaving the way ahead clear. As they enter the clouds above Jurai, they are attacked by floating mines. Summoning up her failing strength, Ryoko pilots Ryo-Ohki safely through the minefield. At last, they arrive at the royal palace. Tenchi, Azaka and Kamidake disembark and, after thanking Ryoko for her help, enter the palace to face Kagato. As Ryoko watches them leave, she collapses to the ground, the effort of getting them there having left her too weak to stand.

Death of space pirate? Her mission complete, Ryoko heads out into space. Sitting aboard Ryo-Ohki, the last of her strength ebbs away. She reflects that, since falling to Earth just a few short months ago, she has had a wonderful time. Now she is all alone once more. As Ryoko drifts into unconsciousness, Ryo-Ohki lets out a howl of grief for the fallen space pirate.
