Episode 6 -	No Need for Resident Officers!
	Chūzai muyō!

Morning in Okayama, and two of its newest residents are waking. Mihoshi and Kiyone, now stationed on Earth for the duration, are settling into life in their new home; rather than impose themselves further on the Masaki family, they are renting an apartment in the city. Since their Galaxy Police salaries are too small to cover their living expenses, they have to take part-time jobs to supplement their income. The sleepy morning atmosphere isn't about to last, as Mihoshi and Kiyone have overslept, and are going to be late for work!

After a hasty breakfast, the two arrive at their first job of the day, working on a construction site. Although the resourceful Kiyone is coping quite well with the work, it takes Mihoshi's trademark clumsiness to ruin things; she manages to upend a dump truck by guiding it into a trench!

At lunch, the twosome go shopping. Kiyone buys groceries, and Mihoshi spends her wages on her favourite snacks.

In the afternoon, Mihoshi and Kiyone start their second job of the day, working in a fast food restaurant. Once again, Kiyone takes to the work like a duck to water, and once again Mihoshi messes up, first by offering customers the entire menu as a side dish, and then by confusing the special offers and giving away whole lunches for free. As if their jobs weren't in enough jeopardy with Mihoshi consistently dropping every tray of food, the pair are called out on a police emergency, and they have to rush off to attend.

The emergency turns out to be nothing more than a simple breakdown recovery. After fixing the stranded spaceship, Mihoshi and Kiyone head back to Earth. Although they are exhausted, they are pleased to be paid a visit from Tenchi and the girls, who have dropped in to find out how they are settling into their new lives. However, even when visiting friends Ryoko and Ayeka cannot keep their rivalry under control, and in the ensuing fight, the apartment is left a little charred!

Mihoshi and Kiyone round off an exhausting day by finding the time to unwind. After a visit to the public baths, they decide to spend some of their wages unwinding at a karaoke bar, singing their hearts out to their favourite hit songs. However, the overworked officers get scarcely a moment's peace, as they receive one last call-out to sort out a fender bender near Saturn. As they finally return to their apartment at the end of the day, Kiyone muses on the difficulties of her new life, and takes some consolation in the fact that Mihoshi seems happy enough.

One of the songs heard in Mihoshi and Kiyone's karaoke session is "Sleeping Beauty on the Balcony" from the opening of the Mihoshi Special OVA. Interestingly, although an English rendition of the song exists, the original Japanese version is still heard on the English dub of the episode.
