Far
out in space, a young, dark-green-haired woman awakes. Before the day
begins, the woman, a Galaxy Police officer by the name of Kiyone, pays
her respects to her supposedly deceased partner Mihoshi. If anything,
she is glad to be free from her bubbleheaded partner at last, but her
slightly morbid good humour is about to take a nosedive when headquarters
informs her of the news that Mihoshi may not, as previously thought,
be dead. Kiyone is assigned the mission of searching for the missing
detective, much to her chagrin.
Back
on Earth, the very much alive and well Mihoshi is relaxing at the Masaki
home. Meanwhile, Tenchi's latest lodger, Washu, has finished performing
some dimension-warping alterations to the family bathroom, turning it
into an immense bathhouse. Nobuyuki is pleased with the new amenities,
not least for the opportunity to use them to get "better acquainted"
with the new house guests. However, his attempts at peeping are thwarted
by Washu's built-in security device; when the door is opened by a man,
it leads back to the original bathroom instead!
Elsewhere, Kiyone
has arrived on Earth, and approaches the Masaki house. Outside, she
meets Tenchi and asks him if he has seen Mihoshi. He points to Mihoshi,
fast asleep on the porch, and Kiyone's hopes of a peaceful, disaster-free
life are dashed in an instant!
Later
on, the reunited duo take tea inside the Masaki home. Mihoshi introduces
Kiyone to the family, and she is shocked to discover not only a wanted
space pirate staying with them, but two Juraian princesses and a legendary
mad scientist too! Kiyone is in a state of disbelief over how the unusual
house guests seem to be living quite happily together. Ever dedicated
to her duty, Kiyone whips out her pistol and tries to arrest Ryoko.
After pausing to finish her dinner, Ryoko leads Kiyone outside for a
proper cops-and-robbers chase. Kiyone pursues her, pistol blazing, but
Ryoko retaliates with exploding bolts of energy. Kiyone ups the stakes
by summoning her shuttle, Yagami, and a powered armour suit for Mihoshi.
However, Mihoshi proves once again that she is hardly a worthy adversary,
as she can't even pilot her battle suit correctly! The battle between
Kiyone and Ryoko rages on until Ayeka steps in, using her guardians
to trap Ryoko. Kiyone steps forward to read Ryoko her rights, but Mihoshi's
out-of-control battle suit thunders onto the scene and finally crashes.
Mihoshi has ruined Kiyone's chances again!
That
evening, the girls relax in the new bath, but Kiyone is still in despair
over the incompetence of her partner. As night falls, Mihoshi and Kiyone
prepare to return to GPHQ. After saying their farewells, the duo board
the Yagami. However, before they have chance to take off, they receive
a message from headquarters, telling them that they have now been reassigned
as patrol officers for the solar system. Their stay on Earth has been
extended indefinitely!
