Episode 3 - No Need for Worries!
  Shinpai muyô!
  Shinpai muyō!
First aired - 16th April 1995

Tenchi, Ayeka and Ryoko are enjoying sweet potatoes cooked over a fire of burning leaves. Ryoko cannot help but notice how Ayeka and Tenchi are getting along rather too well for her liking. Later that day, she sits on the roof of Tenchi's house, wondering how she could have let Ayeka get so close to him. However, she is too busy with something else to worry about her rival; out in the lake, a large egg has just been laid in the wreckage of her spaceship.

Sasami, the latest visitorElsewhere, Tenchi is walking through the woods. As he glances up at the sky, he spots what at first he thinks is the vapour trail of a plane, but it suddenly changes direction and spirals down towards him. He staggers backwards in disbelief and trips on a tree root. From his dazed vantage point on the ground, he sees a young girl standing behind him. As Tenchi gets to his feet, the girl introduces herself as Sasami, and tells him that she is looking for her older sister. Before he can ask her anything else, she vanishes in a gust of wind.

Tenchi soon arrives back at the shrine and tells his grandfather what he saw. Katsuhito not only believes his grandson's outlandish story, but to Tenchi's disbelief, he can even describe the girl in exact detail. However, this isn't so amazing, as he already knows Sasami is coming! Sasami arrives along with Nobuyuki, and they all head back for the house to see Ayeka.

That night, the Masaki family hold a farewell party for Ayeka and Mihoshi, who are due to leave the next day on Sasami's spaceship. However, Ayeka stays apart from the festivities, wearing a look of great sadness on her face; she isn't so keen to leave Earth now. Ryoko spots this, and decides to stir things up a little by pretending to be pregnant (she even stuffs the egg she retrieved that morning down her dress to add weight to her story!). See the family resemblance...She dashes out of the room, feigning morning sickness, and moments later returns clutching her "baby", the egg. She shocks the family further by telling everyone that Tenchi is the father! Everyone, save for Tenchi and Ayeka, is delighted. Ayeka, however, is furious, and tries to wrestle the egg away from Ryoko. In the scuffle, they drop the egg and it smashes on the floor. Luckily, the creature inside is unharmed, and a pair of furry legs pop out of the bottom, followed closely by the rest of the creature, which looks like the cross between a rabbit and a cat.

Later that day, with Ryoko still maintaining that Tenchi is the father, the family discuss a name for the new arrival (who is tucking into a basket of carrots, for which she has already developed a firm fondness). Ryoko finally comes clean and tells everyone that the cabbit's name is Ryo-Ohki, the same name as her wrecked spaceship; the hatchling is in fact a baby spaceship.

The new Ryo-OhkiA short while later, the family gather at the lake shore as Sasami's spaceship arrives to take Ayeka and Mihoshi home. Ryoko is glad to see them leave, and wants to escort them halfway. Ayeka wonders how she can do this without a spaceship, but Ryoko demonstrates that, despite having only just hatched, Ryo-Ohki is perfectly capable of flight, and transforms her into her spaceship guise, virtually identical to the original Ryo-Ohki. Sasami and her passengers set out for home, accompanied by Ryoko and Tenchi aboard the Ryo-Ohki.

I spy with my little eye, something beginning with 'C'...As Ayeka watches the Earth receding in her view screen, she wistfully remembers the good time she had during her brief spell on the planet. However, she is missing Tenchi most of all. She is surprised to see Tenchi's face on her ship's communication screen, and takes the opportunity to bid him farewell and thank him for his kindness, though she cannot bring herself to confess her feelings for Tenchi. As Sasami's ship is preparing to jump into hyperspace, Sasami realises she has still got one of Ryo-Ohki's carrots in her pocket, and pulls it out to look at it. However, with the communication link still open, the carrot-obsessed Ryo-Ohki sees it and thunders towards Sasami's ship! The two spacecraft collide with a massive explosion.

Some time later, back on Earth, Tenchi finds that, with Sasami's ship destroyed, he has another interstellar lodger and a bandaged cabbit to contend with, and Ryoko and Ayeka are still fighting with each other!
