Episode 11 -	First Paycheck and Presents

Out in deep space, Ryoko Balouta and her gang of pirates are up to their usual business. They detect the energy signature of an approaching Galaxy Police ship and prepare to attack. The ship drops out of hyperspace right in front of them, and just as Ryoko is ordering them to surrender, a familiar face appears on the view screen; Seina Yamada! Seconds later, dozens of pursuing pirate ships appear around them. Clearly, Seina has been attracting them from light-years around! Ryoko realises Seina is using his ship, the Kamidake, as a decoy and orders her crew to flee. They hyperspace-jump to a deserted region of space, but moments later Seina's ship appears. Again and again Ryoko tries to evade them, and each time Seina somehow manages to track her. Before long Ryoko is at her wits' end!

After this latest incident, the Pirates Guild hold an emergency meeting to discuss what should be done. General Da Ruma, head of the Guild, presides. After Tarant Shunk's failure to eliminate Seina, an alternative must be found. One pirate suggests Ryoko Balouta could do the job because of her following within the GP and her tendency to encounter Seina at random. Some of the pirates suspect Ryoko of being a spy because of her involvement, but she is keen to prove her loyalty to the Guild by accepting her mission. One pirate suggests she use Elma to complete her task, and General Da Ruma approves of this course of action. As Ryoko prepares to depart on her mission, she converses with fellow captain Kyo Komachi. Komachi protests that the Pirates Guild are not assassins, but Ryoko knows she has a mission to accomplish. With a frown on her face, she gazes at the photograph of herself with Seina, taken at the time of their first encounter.

The crew of the Kamidake celebrate the end of another successful mission. Alan, Barry and Cohen are delighted to discover their salary has already been transferred. NB, however, is annoyed that he hasn't been paid (though Alan points out he doesn't get paid because he's just the captain's assistant robot). NB is eager to buy some upgrades for himself, as well as a few more "exotic" items, so blackmails Seina into helping him out by threatening to reveal some secrets about him! As the Kamidake heads back to the Academy, Kiriko and Amane discuss the fate of Seiryo, who was captured by Komachi's crew. He is still being held for ransom, and his stubborn father refuses to pay up.

Back at the Academy, Seina tries to sneak out to pick up NB's shopping. Kiriko and Amane spot him leaving and try to tag along, but he makes an excuse and runs off. They decide to follow him to find out what he is up to. Seina's first stop is at a high-class lingerie shop. Kiriko and Amane trail him there under the pretence of shopping for underwear for themselves. After picking up NB's order, he heads for the next location on his list; a toy shop. Kiriko seems to think this is innocent enough until she takes a peek inside and discovers that they sell the kind of "toys" that only adults can buy! Seina's final stop is at a very shady-looking establishment. When he mentions NB's name to the doorman he is welcomed in, but Seina is startled to hear the sound of whips and cries of pain and pleasure coming from within! Amane and Kiriko, now convinced that Seina is a total pervert, are still spying on him when a trio of dominatrices step up behind them. Thinking that the girls are actually interested in the club, they drag them off for a free session!

After his embarrassing shopping trip, Seina takes a rest and wonders what NB has been getting up to behind his back. Just then, Elma passes by and spots him. She offers to show him around the best shops, and the two of them stroll off through the streets together. After a narrow escape from the whip-wielding mistresses, Amane and Kiriko are back on Seina's trail, and rather miffed that he is going around with Elma when he turned down their invitations. Elma leads Seina to a teleporter which takes them into a busy and vibrant bazaar area. After browsing the stalls for a while, the meet Airi, who is out buying cookery ingredients. Elma teases Seina by telling Airi he is shopping for a present for his girlfriend, and Airi follows her lead by making out she is his girlfriend, showing him a page from a catalogue with a necklace she likes! Elma laughs it off, but admits that a necklace would be a good present for a girl. Seina grabs her hand and leads her to the nearest jewellers, Elma blushing at his touch. Inside the jewellers, Elma points out a star-shaped pendant that she likes. As she and Seina are browsing, Elma becomes aware that she is being watched by two pirates disguised as civilians, who are making sure she carries out her mission.

Meanwhile, at the pirate's base, Seiryo has come to the conclusion that nobody is going to rescue him, so decides to escape himself. When he touches the bars of his cell they miraculously collapse. As he sneaks along the corridors, he finds a convenient laser sword. Pleased with his good fortune, Seiryo makes good his escape. Komachi watches him from the shadows, having clearly arranged it all. General Da Ruma and Tarant Shunk also watch his escape with interest. The subject of their discussion then changes to that of Ryoko, and how Tarant had imprisoned the families of her crew in order to blackmail her into killing Seina. News that Tarant's prisoners have escaped has reached Da Ruma, and the escapees have also taken something called the "Original J" with them. The General orders Tarant to retrieve it at all costs.

Elma and Seina take a break from their shopping in a park. Noticing Elma's downcast expression, Seina tries to cheer her up, but she remains melancholy. Seina announces he has decided what to buy, and leaves Elma sitting on the park bench while he goes back to the market. When he returns, evening is drawing in. Elma, still obviously distressed, asks Seina who his gifts are for, then draws her gun and points it at him. She tells him she will pass his gifts on to the right people, and apologises for betraying him so. Seina is shocked, but he reaches into his bag and hands Elma her gift. Overcome by her conflicting emotions, Elma drops her gun and sinks to her knees. Suddenly, she begins to change; she removes her disguise to reveal that she has been Ryoko all along! She finds her resolve once more and grabs her gun. She tells Seina that he should go home, and points the gun at her own head. Seina goes to stop her when he hears the cry of an enraged Amane, as she and Kiriko thunder across the park in a police car. Seina pushes Ryoko out of the way of the speeding vehicle, but falls on top of her. Amane and Kiriko get out of the car to find Seina on top of Ryoko! Suddenly, Airi appears with a group of Galaxy Police officers, who were wearing optical camouflage and had the area surrounded.

Soon, the park is swarming with police, and Ryoko has been placed under arrest. As she is taken away, Seina hands over the gift he bought her; the star pendant that she showed him in the jewellers earlier. As the police car drives away, Airi tells Seina that Ryoko will probably get off lightly. She then asks Seina where her gift is, and Amane and Kiriko demand theirs too. Alas, Seina's shopping has been crushed under one of the police cars! NB is especially annoyed that his purchases have been destroyed. The girls overhear his lamentations and realise why Seina was going to all those adult stores, and NB earns himself a savage beating for his troubles!
