Tenchi Muyo SNES Game

Packaging, manual and cartridgeIn 1995, the video game company Banpresto released a Tenchi Muyo game for the Super Famicom (the Japanese name for the Super NES / Super Nintendo). The game, "Tenchi Muyô! GÊMU Hen" ("Tenchi Muyo! Game Chapter ") is a simple RPG-style game, with an emphasis on turn-based combat.

The game itself takes place mostly on an isometric 'board', and as you move around different locations on the map, you must win battles against the alien army of Shitsuki, a mysterious girl who arrives at the Masaki home one morning and kidnaps Sasami! Although the game is quite short and easy to complete (<10 hours), it is quite good fun, and even includes voice samples of the Japanese seiyû (voice actors) who play the characters in the original Japanese series.

Despite there being no official English-language version of the game (although patched ROM images exist), it is quite easy to play even if you don't read Japanese, once you understand what the menu options do. You can find simple English instructions in the guide on this site. You will also find a complete list of characters, attacks, enemies and locations, as well as hints, tips and a strategy guide in this section.
